The Belgian Malinois, named for the Belgian city of Malines is one of the four varieties of Belgian Sheepdog. It is a very intelligent and obedient dog. Watchful and serious with strong protective and territorial instincts. These dogs make excellent police and guard dogs. They are ever-watchful, alert and loyal, and the Belgian Malinois is good with children if socialized well with them.
