Known
affectionately as "Westie," the West Highland White
Terrier was originally bred as a hunter to keep down
fox, otter, and other vermin populations on the many
farms of Scotland. It is a member of the terrier family
that includes the Cairn and Scottish terriers. This
breed has made quite a name for itself, establishing
itself as one of the most competitive terriers in the
show ring and one of the most popular terriers in the
home. |
