The ancestors of the Vizsla may have been hunter and companion dogs of the Magyar hordes which swarmed over Central Europe more than a thousand years ago and migrated into what is now Hungary. The Vizsla is a hardworking hunting-dog that is able to track and point game and serve as a retriever as well. The Vizsla has the energy to range all day. It is a true hunter at heart, and always on the lookout for bird scent.
