The Siberian Husky was developed by the Chukchi people of northeastern Asia to haul heavy sled loads over long distances. Although somewhat smaller and lighter than most other sled dogs, the powerful yet graceful Husky is the favorite of sled-racing enthusiast, and with several world titles to its credit the Husky is the champion of the sport. The Husky is a very social dog, but requires patient human companionship.
