The Shetland
Sheep-dog is one of the world's most popular breeds. The
ancestors of this breed were the herding dogs of
Scotland that also provided the root stock for the
Collie and Border Collie. Despite its small size, the
Shetland is a superb sheepdog. The breed is far more often
referred to by its nickname of "Sheltie." It is very
friendly with children, and has readily adapted to its
modern role of companion and family dog. |
