The Old
English Sheepdog was developed in the west of England,
in the counties of Devon and Somerset. It was the answer
to the need of a strong dog capable of defending the
flocks and herds from the wolves that existed at one
time in England. The bobtail's massive size deterred
predators of old and today makes the breed a valuable
guard dog. Children, especially are attracted by the
Sheepdog's fluffy, cuddly looks. |
