The origin of the Italian Greyhound goes back to ancient times. It is known to have been in Egypt where it is thought  to have come from. Its ancestors were widely admired by the ancient Egyptians and the Romans. The Miniaturized Greyhounds found special favor with Italian courtiers by the middle ages. It can reach speeds of 40 mph. This dog is loving and playful with his family, but reserved with strangers.
