The Golden Retriever was bred to retrieve waterfowl. It
is happiest when fetching and carrying, and will look
for an opportunity to bring things to its master. In
the mid 1800s, Lord Tweedmouth, who lived just north of
the Scottish border along the Tweed River was the man
responsible for development of the breed. This dog is
everybody's friend, and is known for its devoted and obedient
nature, and family companion. |
