The Boston Terrier was originally bred for dog fighting, until recently a popular activity in Boston and throughout the United States. It is one of only a few species bred and developed in the United States. The Boston is committed and receptive to its owner's wishes and moods. It is well- mannered indoors, has a gentle, loving disposition that has given it a reputation as a first-class household pet and companion.
