This breed
was originally referred to simply as a sheepdog. In 1915
the name Border Collie was first recorded, because of
the breeds origin in the border country between Scotland
and England. Among European sheep-herding dogs, the
Border Collie is considered to have the highest
capacity for work, and among the most intelligent and
obedient of breeds. It can be a disastrous housedog if
not given a challenging job every day. |
