The early
Australian names for the cattle dog was Queensland
Heelers or Blue Heelers. It carried the name Queensland
heeler for the place from which it was bred. The cattle
dog standard evolved from the Dingo. Even today the
resemblance to the Dingo is evident. Early requirements
for the dog were to chase, herd and have the courage to
challenge cattle. Though not a good breed for young
children, it is loyal to its owner and family. |
